March 11, 2017 - 72nd Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima and 30th Birthday of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association
We will be giving a slide show talk and presentation about the Battle of Iwo Jima, Survivors Association, building of the Memorial, Victory Ride, Museum and MOH recipient Hershel Williams and flag raiser, Harlon Block. We will also be celebrating the 30th year since the Iwo Jima Survivors Association was formed. Come learn all about us and share a piece of birthday cake for the Survivors Association.
Takes place at the Lucy Robbins Wells library in Newington on March 11th at 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Community Room. FREE. Please see attached flier
March 12, 2017 - Movie showing of "In the Shadow of Suribachi: Sammy's Story"
We are advertising this event on behalf of Sammy's son, Howie. Samuel Bernstein was an Iwo Jima Survivor and member of the Iwo Jima Survivors Association and passed away about 1 year ago.
